ZEN can execute a variety of automatic actions when responding to events and exceeded thresholds, including sending notifications via email and programmable responses to specific events and conditions.

The provision of an interface to Rexx and ZEN Rexx Function Pack is particularly powerful since it enables you to perform almost any user-specific processing you might require.

For example, you could override an alert’s default routing at the time it is issued dependent upon the time-of-day, alter the content of the alert, or suppress an alert completely; you could process console messages and dependent upon their contents send out e-mails to different recipients, or process the output from ZEN component or system commands issued from within your own Rexx programs and build customized ZEN panels of your own design accessed from your own customized drop-down ZEN menus.
